Effects of Sintering Temperature on the Microstructure and Properties of (Ti, W, Mo)C-Ni Cermet

    • (Ti, W, Mo)C pre-alloyed solid solution powders were produced by carbothermal reduction method and (Ti, W, Mo)C-Ni cermet was prepared by powder metallurgy method. The effects of sintering temperature on compactness, microstructure and properties of cermet were studied. The results show that in the range of 1 410-1 470 ℃, the compactness of cermet gradually improved and then decreased slightly, and the hardness rose, with the increase of sintering temperature. At 1 450 ℃, the cermet with homogeneous compact microstructure and fine grains, had the best comprehensive mechanical properties, a transverse rupture strength of 1 751 MPa and a hardness of 91.3 HRA.
