Effect of Flame Retardant Agent Al(OH)3 Content on Properties of Recycled Wheat Straw Fiber/ Waste PP Composites
-
Abstract
Recyled flame retardent wheat straw fiber reinforced waste polypropylene(PP) composites were prepared. The influence of Al(OH)3 content on the flame retardancy and mechanical properties of the composite was studied. The results show that Al(OH)3 significantly improved the flame retardancy and anti-dripping performance of the composites. When 40wt% Al(OH)3 was added, the vertical burning level of the composites achieved FV-0,and the limiting oxygen index value was 28.9.The decomposition temperature of the composites was increased by the addition of Al(OH)3.With the increase of Al(OH)3 content the tensile strength, bending strength and impact strength of the composite, tended to increase first and then decrease. When the Al(OH)3 content was 30wt%,the composite had the best combination of flame retardancy and mechanical properties.
