Single Grain High Speed Grinding Test for Super Alloy GH4169
-
Abstract
A new single grain grinding test method was proposed using a self designed device brazed single diamond grain for abrasive testing. The wear debris morpholohy, grooves and change regularity of grinding force were for analyzed in the high speed grinding test for GH4169 super alloy at different grinding speeds with the same maximum undeformed wear debris thickness. Results reveal that the grinding speed had great effects on the wear debris formation and groove surface status. Shearing and slipping caused serration segment band feature of wear debris at high speed. The increase of grinding speed can obtain workpieces with good surface. At the same ratio of grinding speed to workpiece moving speed, the grinding force of single grain decreased with increasing the grinding speed.
