Preparation and Absorbing Properties of Ni-SiC/Ferrite Composite Coatings

Abstract
In order to prepare wave absorbing coatings with low cost,good wave absorbing properties and wide absorption band,the technology of liquid phase hydrogen reduction under high pressure was employed to modify SiC powders.The Ni-SiC/ferrite composite wave absorbing coatings were prepared by adding ferrite.The absorbing properties of the single component and composite coatings were studied in the frequency range of 8-18 GHz.The results show that the proper adjustment of complex permeability and complex permittivity,and the enhancement of frequency dispersion effect of the compoite coatings could be obtained,which resulted in the increase of absorbing peak value and wide absorption band.The minimum reflectivity of the Ni-SiC/ferrite compsoite wave absorbing coatings was -22.85 dB at the frequency of 15.2 GHz and the relevant bandwidth at the reflectivity was 7 GHz which was smaller than -10 dB.
