Tensile Behaviors of IC10 Alloy at High Temperatures
-
Abstract
The tensile experiments were conduct over a wide range of temperatures (25-900℃) and strain rates (10-5-10-2 s-1) on a material testing system to investigate the flow behaviors of alloy IC10.The anomalous temperature dependence of yield stress was also investigated. The characters of fractures at different temperatures were studied with the aid of scanning electron microscopy. The stress-strain curves revealsed that the flow behaviors were sensitive to strain rates at 900℃,but not at room temperature. When the temperature was below (including) 800℃,the fracture was transgranular cracking mixed with a few dimpled and intergranular fracture. The fracture was ductile cracking at 900℃.A close comparison among the fractures under various conditions revealed that the number of the ductile dimples increased with the temperature, and the dimples at evaluated temperature were deeper and larger.
