    Strontium Recovery in Producing Metallic Strontium Using Vacuum Aluminothermic Reduction

    • The strontium recovery in producing metallic strontium using vacuum aluminothermic reduction was investigated.The effects of expetimental conditions such as roasting of SrO,size of the pellets,briquetting pressure,aluminium content,vacuum degree,heating temperature and reduction time on strontium recovery were studied.The purity of metallic strontium was analyzed.The slag was quantitatively phase analyzed by XRD.The purity of metal strontium reaches higher than 99.0% before and after optimizing experimental conditions.The practical strontium recovery would reach more than 60% with optimized experimental conditions.Heating temperature at 1 050 ℃ is suitabile.High temperature might increase the strontium recovery.
