Microstructure and Grain Orientation of AZ31 Magnesium Alloy Sheets Processed by Differential Speed Rolling

    • The objective of this study on microstructure and grain orientation of AZ31 magnesium alloy sheets produced by differential speed rolling was to investigate the possibility of improving deformability of AZ31 magnesium alloy sheets. The results indicate that, compared with sheets produced by normal rolling, the deformation by differential speed rolling is more than the former, and the process of dynamic recrystallization is more completed,so differential speed rolling is beneficial to the grains of magnesium alloy sheets to be refined and homogeneous; And (0002) basal plane orientation of AZ31 magnesium alloy sheets is improved to some extent with various process conditions of differential speed rolling, the texture is intenerated, which improvesd the deformability of AZ31 magnesium alloy.
