    Notch Location Confirmation for Impact Specimens of High Freguency Welded Pipes

    • Chapy impact test was used to investigate the method to confirm notch locations for impact sepcimens of high frequency welded (HFW) pipes, especially discussed how to confirm notch locations when the weld centre line was not verical to the specimen centre line (the weld seam was oblique). The results show that sepcimens with two types of notch location were prepared when weld seam was oblique. One type was that the bottom of notch located in the intersection point of the specimen centre line and the line 2 mm from the side surface, and was on the line vertical to the specimen centre line. The other type was that the notch bottom located in the intersection point of the specimen centre line and the weld center line, and was on the line vertical to the specimen centre line. The smaller value of test results was regarded as impact absorbed energy of weld seam in two specimens, and this specimen was just the impact specimen of weld seam.
