The Effect of Rare Earth on Structures Heredity and Performance of AM60B Magnesium Alloys

The effect of RE on the structures and performance the effect for original material of AM60 magnesium alloy was studied.When the content is 0.5%,the heredity of structure is still exist.With the increase of the RE,the heredity will be destroyed.When the content of rare earth is 1.0%,the heredity of AM60 magnesium alloy is disappeared.The mechanical properties of the magnesium alloy decreased with the scrap increasing.For the same scrap content,the tensile strength and elongation percentage of the alloy increase obviousely with the increase of RE additions.But,when the RE content is more than 1.0%,the increase of properties become slowly,and the elongation percentage change with the trend of decreasing.
