    Quasi-static Compression Energy-absorption Properties of Steel Honeycomb Structures

    • The quasi-static compressive experiments of plain carbon steel Q215 were conducted on MTS810 tester.The effect of structure parameters on specific energy-absorption and compressive strength was analyzed for steel honeycomb structures.The results show that honeycomb structures of plain carbon steel Q215 were characterized by excellent energy-absorption capacity with the specific energy-absorption of 5-38 kJ·kg-1.The compressive strength increased with the ratio of face thickness to core thickness for x and y direction compression.Meanwhile they increased with the ratio of cell wall thickness to cell length for z direction.
