Metal Parts Manufactured by Laminated Template Electrodeposition
-
Abstract
Copper parts with different profiles were produced by using laminated template electrodeposition. The effects of template materials, template geometry, current type and current density on the surface quality, dimensional precision of the deposited metal parts were studied. The results show that laminated template electrodeposition could produce copper parts with different shapes. Complexity of the deposition surface geometry resulted in the non-uniform distribution of the electric field and the emergence of edge effect, which was the main reason for the deterioration of deposition surface quality. Metal parts with better surface quality could be gained by using a pulse current than a direct current, but the deposition effect of the former was lower than the latter.
