Abstract
The cerium-doped titanium dioxide nanotubes were prepared by sol-gel method using porous anodic alumina as template. The samples were characterized by means of SEM,XRD and BET.The photocatalytic property of titanium dioxide nanotubes and nanopowders were stutied by degrading the methyl orange solution. The results show that appropriate content of cerium can effectively enhance the photocatalytic activity of TiO2 nanotubes. There is an optimal doped quantity, which is about 2%(mol ratio of Ce and Ti) under this test condition. The photocatalytic property of cerium-doped nanotubes is better than that of cerium-doped nanopowders. The degradation rate is more than 80% after 150 min light esposure.
