    Bauschinger Effect of Linepipe Steel Plate

    • The strain resistance decrement at reversal loading,which is called Bauschinger effect,BE,for X70,X80 steel plate was studied at various prestrains,reversing strain magnitudes and loading types (axial and bending).The main influencing factors on BE are discussed.X80,having higher strength,showed a bigger BE,indicating that the strain hardening capacity of material influenced the degree of BE.The amplitude of prestrain and reversal strain both showed remarkable influence on BE and the elastic-plastic strain inhomogeneity in specimen cross section during bending and the macro-residual stress caused by reversal strain both played a noticeable role in BE.
